A college essay can be a journey of self-discovery for a young person—or a nightmare. Either way, I believe having an editor helps the student find their story and tell it in a way that represents the best version of themself.

While I don’t engage in full-on college essay coaching or doing any rewriting, I provide ideas for improvements and structural changes as well as ask probing questions to help the writer dig deeper to find what their essay is really about (it’s often not what they think). Most of the students I’ve worked with (and their parents) have felt that my questions and suggestions helped them to vastly improve their essays.
